This course defines the role of design mediums in an advertising context. Students are introduced to informational and administrative approaches in the development of advertising that include marketing
objectives and goals.
Campaign strategies and class projects are based upon marketing realities as applied to print, broadcast out-of-home and other media applications. A final project in which teams create an entire campaign is presented to an audience of faculty peers, and field professionals.
The role of the art director in producing multi-faceted design projects is examined. A team environment enhances leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Emphasis is placed upon coordinating creative efforts from concept to finished product.
